Acabo de recibir el último número de Landscape, la revista de DEFRA. (DEFRA es el Departamento de Medio Ambiente, Alimentación y Asuntos Rurales del Reino Unido).

I've just received home the last issue of Landscape, the DEFRA Magazine. (DEFRA is the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in the UK).

Si no haces una versión de Alicia este año, no la pordrás hacer en los próximos años, después de la masiva campaña de la película de inminente estreno. Así que ésta es mi versión. Llevo todo el fin de semana haciendo ilustraciones vectoriales.

Act of contrition

Caja de vinos pintada para una expo que tendrá lugar el día de Sant Jordi, 23 de abril en la tienda Olokuti en el barrio de Gràcia en Barcelona. El único requisito es que cada participante pinte una caja de vinos de madera.


This is a wine box for an expo that will be held in Olokuti shop, Barcelona on the 23rd of April. Every participant has to paint on a plain wine box.

I got caught in a storm

Aunque no tenga mucho que ver con lo que hago como ilustrador, he terminado este cuadro. Igual debería abrir otro blog para los cuadros :) Está basado en una canción de Lhasa que se llama Rising. Acrílico sobre cartón. 50x30cm.

Deep changes to come

Lanzamiento de zapatos

Estas ilustraciones son para una corta historia que escribí el año pasado. Se llama Lanzamiento de zapatos.

Después de la ilustración de Lhasa quería hacer algo con lápiz y mezclarlo con lo que hago normalmente con ordenador.

Estas dos ilustraciones son consecutivas. En la primera se explica que el niño tira el zapato por los aires y se queda en la copa de un árbol. La segunda es sin palabras.

My flying shoes
These are some illustrations I've made for a short story I wrote last year.

It's called My flying shoes (Lanzamiento de zapatos).

After the Lhasa illo I wanted to use more pencil and combine it with what I normally do with computer.

These are two consecutive illos. The first one explains that the boy throws the shoe and It keeps on a tree. The second one is without text.

Prioridades

Esta ilustración está basada en algo que oí ayer en las noticias, las declaraciones del obispo de San Sebastián, que decía que esos "pobres" de Haití estaban mal, pero que nosotros, según él, estamos peor.

Priorities
This illustration is based on something I heard yesterday in the news. Munilla, a Spanish priest said that these "poor" people in Haiti were quite bad, but in fact, according to him, we are worse.

Para el fin del mundo o el año nuevo (Para Lhasa)

Esta ilustración está dedicada a una de mis cantantes favoritas, Lhasa, que murió el día de año nuevo.

El título pertenece a una canción suya, y en parte también al libro que me estoy leyendo ahora, el fin del mundo, y un despiadado país de las maravillas, de Haruki Murakami, uno de mis escritores favoritos.


For the end of the world or the new year (to Lhasa)

This illustration is dedicated to one of my favourite singers, Lhasa, who passed away on New Year's day.

The title belongs to one of her songs (Para el fin del mundo o el año nuevo), and also It's related to the book I'm reading at the moment, Hard-boiled wonderland and the end of the world by Haruki Murakami. He's also one of my favourite writers.
